Operations Manager - Primary school PE & Sport (Bee Active)

Salary: £40,000-45,000

The Role

You’ll take overall leadership and management of the Staffordshire region, developing and inspiring a high-performing team. Working closely with the Operations Director, you’ll operate within a clear strategic framework that enables the delivery of our operational and financial targets, while maintaining strong relationships with business and community partners.

Our programmes are designed to give every young person the opportunity to engage in sport and physical activity. You’ll build on Bee Active’s market-leading success in the region — leading a team of around 30 full-time equivalent coaches and casual staff during seasonal peaks, ensuring smooth, high-quality delivery across all programmes.

You’ll be based in our Stoke-on-Trent office but also receive dedicated support from LSC’s central team in Manchester across finance, HR, customer service, marketing, and recruitment, and collaborate with other Operations Managers nationally to share best practice.

In the near future, you’ll play a key role in recruiting an Assistant Operations Manager and an Extended Schools Lead to strengthen the structure and support our continued growth. Your role will be to build on the existing high-quality work established by Bee Active while integrating into LSC’s systems and processes.

What you will be doing

• Managing the delivery of curricular, extra-curricular, and holiday club activities. 

• Leading and motivating our team of teachers and coaches to deliver the highest quality of service.

• Measuring performance, reporting outcomes, and keeping our systems updated.

• Managing resources effectively, including equipment and vehicles. Working closely with the sales and marketing team to promote our programmes and activities.

We would love to meet someone with:

Essential

• Proven experience in leading, managing, and developing people.
• Experience within the primary education sector.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
• Confidence with ICT and digital systems.
• A full UK driving licence and Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable

• Experience delivering high-quality PPA cover in primary schools.
• Background in teaching Physical Education.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
• Experience working toward and achieving operational and financial targets.
• Minimum NGB Level 2 qualification in one sport or QTS.
• Up-to-date First Aid and Safeguarding certificates.
